If you don’t mind not-swimming on your vacation, going to Florida in the very winter can be an interesting road trip. There will be warm days when the ocean probably is even warmer than what usual summers in the North offer, but the air is not as warm for such swimming to be very pleasant. However, there are empty beaches with an occasional dog walker, sometimes deep fog covering the water in the mornings. The sand is fresh, without any human footprints and some of an occasional seagull. It has its charm.
