Eating in Brighton Beach

brighton beach new york russian

walking down the Brighton Beach Avenue and seeing all the Russian eateries, we really wanted to check them out and see for ourselves if it’s Russian or not, so we stopped by Skovorodka. Dumplings, harcho, borsch, cold beet root soups, vareniki and many other familiar names. The servings were typically American-sized (yes, very much oversized), but this was very far from the typical Russian home-cooked meal, as, for example, meat was fritted.
