Whenever I visit Florida, I always come across the great egret, be that in the hotel garden, visiting parks or just walking down the street, as in the picture above. I was surprised to learn that this bird lives not only in Florida, but for the last fifteen years also in my home country Latvia!

I find this bird very elegant and I like that it is not spooked easily, so you can come quite close by with your camera and take a picture.
